I love doing walking tours when I travel, so when in Strasbourg for a few days I did the Petite France one with Matthias. It was great and was just... read more 1 hour, as it focused on this one historic neighbourhood. Most cities that have the free walking tour model usually do a longer tour (2-3 hours), and Happy Strasbourg also has a tour like that in the afternoons. But it is nice to have a shorter option, as I had other activities later in the day.
Some free walking tours I have done are really big (like ~20 people), so I was pleasantly surprised that we were a small group today - just 7 people including me. Matthias was fun and approachable, with tons of interesting details about different buildings and historical events. He made it interactive, instead of just giving a monologue. He was very open to us asking questions.
At the end, he gave us a flyer which has some recommendations for food/drink in the city and a map.
I would recommend doing one or both of their tours on the first day you arrive in Strasbourg, as it is a great way to get your bearings and decide which places you want to return to and see in more depth.

Her English was excellent and she had lots of engaging stories. The city is of course gorgeous. She advertised as a free tour but accepted tips at the end. She gave us lots of personalised suggestions at the end of the tour which were very useful.

His explanations of each of the sites we visited was excellent... read more and his knowledge of the history of both the sites and Strasbourg itself was outstanding. He made sure everyone in the group stayed together and he interacted very well with the tour participants. The tour started promptly at 14.30 and ended at 16.00.
